The Intel Core 2 Solo U2100 is a single-core ultra-low-voltage notebook processor introduced in the third quarter of 2007. Built on the Intel 65 nm process, it is a Merom-L design, the single-core member of the Core 2 family, running at a fixed 1.06 GHz with no Turbo, 1 MB of L2 cache and a 533 MT/s front-side bus. Its defining feature is a 5.5 W thermal design power, which allowed fanless and very thin ultraportables of the era, and for that reason it was paired with the older Napa platform rather than the newer Santa Rosa chipsets. The processor ships as a 479-ball micro-FCBGA package soldered to the mainboard, so it cannot be replaced, and it has no integrated graphics: display output comes from the chipset. With one core and one thread it targets office work, web browsing and long battery life rather than throughput.
