Intel Core 2 Duo L7300

2C/2T · 17 W

The Intel Core 2 Duo L7300 is the entry point of Intel's low-voltage mobile Core 2 Duo line, introduced in May 2007 on the 65 nm Merom design. Two cores run at 1.40 GHz with 4 MB of shared L2 cache over an 800 MT/s front-side bus, held to a 17 W thermal envelope for slim business notebooks that prioritise battery life over peak speed. It is supplied as a 479-ball micro-FCBGA package soldered to the mainboard and carries no integrated graphics, so the chipset drives the display. SSSE3 and Intel 64 support make it the first low-voltage mobile Intel part in this class able to run 64-bit operating systems.

Notes
Windows 11 is not supported: version 24H2 and later require the POPCNT and SSE4.2 instructions, which Merom (SSSE3) does not provide, and the Santa Rosa platform has no TPM 2.0. Windows 10 (64-bit) is the newest Windows release that will install. Current 64-bit Linux distributions still run on this processor.
