Intel Core 2 Duo E6300

2C/2T · 65 W

The Core 2 Duo E6300 was the entry model of Intel's original Conroe desktop lineup, released on July 27, 2006. It runs at 1.86 GHz on a 1066 MHz front-side bus with 2 MB of shared L2 cache in a 65 W TDP and supports Intel VT-x. Despite its modest clock speed it could match the previous Pentium Extreme Edition flagship, and its overclocking headroom made it an enthusiast favorite. It was succeeded by the E6320 with the full 4 MB cache in April 2007.

Notes
Windows 11 is out of reach: the chip is far below the 8th-generation floor on Microsoft's supported-processor list and its platforms offer no TPM 2.0 or Secure Boot. Windows 10 and the mainstream Linux distributions still install, because they are built for the x86-64 baseline, but the CPU has no SSE4.2 or POPCNT, so any software that requires x86-64-v2 or newer will not run. ChromeOS Flex does not cover hardware of this era.
