Apple M5 is the base chip of Apple's fifth-generation M-series, announced on 15 October 2025 for the 14-inch MacBook Pro, iPad Pro and Apple Vision Pro and later used in the MacBook Air. Apple calls its four high-performance cores super cores, paired with six efficiency cores. Its 10-core GPU adds a Neural Accelerator to every core, giving over four times the peak GPU AI compute of M4, and unified memory bandwidth rises to 153 GB/s. iPad Pro models with 256 GB or 512 GB of storage use a 9-core CPU (3 super cores) with 12 GB of memory, and some MacBook Air models use an 8-core GPU.
