Apple A12 Bionic

6C/6T · 2.5 GHz

The Apple A12 Bionic was introduced on September 12, 2018 with the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR, and Apple billed it as the industry's first 7 nm chip. Built by TSMC with 6.9 billion transistors, it has an 8-core Neural Engine rated at 5 trillion operations per second that, unlike the A11's, is open to third-party apps through Core ML. It was later used in the iPad Air (3rd generation), iPad mini (5th generation), iPad (8th generation) and Apple TV 4K (2nd generation).
