AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9945WX

12C/24T · 5.4 GHz · 350 W

The Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9945WX is the 12-core, 24-thread entry model of AMD's Threadripper PRO 9000 WX-Series (Shimada Peak), launched on July 23, 2025. Unlike the rest of the range it was not given a retail price and is offered mainly in pre-built workstations from OEM partners. It pairs two Zen 5 chiplets with six active cores each with a 6 nm I/O die and has the highest base clock in the series, while keeping the full WRX90 platform with eight-channel DDR5-6400 RDIMM memory and up to 128 PCIe 5.0 lanes. In a TRX50 motherboard it runs with four memory channels and fewer lanes. AMD PRO technologies add remote manageability and memory encryption.

Notes: AMD officially lists Windows 11 64-bit, Windows 10 64-bit, RHEL x86 64-bit and Ubuntu x86 64-bit for this processor. Microsoft's Windows 11 24H2 supported-processor list predates the Threadripper PRO 9000 WX-Series and does not name it, while the 25H2 list names the Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9000 WX-Series; no separate 26H2 list has been published, so the 25H2 status is carried over. Fedora and Arch run on Zen 5 with mainline kernels.
