AMD Ryzen Embedded 8640U

6C/12T · 4.9 GHz · 15 W

Six-core, low-power model of the Ryzen Embedded 8000 Series, which AMD launched on 2 April 2024 as its first embedded processors with an integrated NPU for industrial AI. The XDNA NPU, RDNA 3 graphics and Zen 4 cores together deliver up to 39 TOPS for machine vision, robotics and predictive-maintenance workloads at the edge. Its 15-30 W range suits fanless and compact industrial systems, and it adds ECC DDR5 memory support and up to 10 years of planned availability.

Notes
AMD states that the Ryzen Embedded 8000 Series supports Windows, and its AI software stack targets Windows. Microsoft's Windows 11 25H2 supported-processor list covers the Ryzen 8000 Series, which uses the same Hawk Point silicon, and 24H2, 25H2 and 26H2 share the same hardware requirements. AMD does not publish Windows 10 or Linux support for these embedded parts.
