MediaTek MT3620

1C/1T · 0.5 GHz

The first microcontroller certified for Microsoft's Azure Sphere IoT security platform, designed in close cooperation with Microsoft and introduced when Azure Sphere was announced on April 16, 2018. A Cortex-A7 application core at up to 500 MHz with 4 MB of SRAM runs the Linux-based Azure Sphere OS, two Cortex-M4F cores at up to 200 MHz handle real-time I/O, and a dedicated Microsoft Pluton security subsystem provides the hardware root of trust. It also integrates dual-band 2.4/5 GHz 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, and has been used in consumer appliances, retail and manufacturing equipment, and guardian modules that securely connect existing machines to the cloud.
