Its 28 threads run at 2.2 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 2.8 GHz within a 115 W TDP, giving a four-socket server 56 cores; larger configurations require the E7-8800 v3 models.

Haswell-based Xeon E7 v3 processors are not on Microsoft's supported-processor lists for Windows 11 24H2, 25H2 or 26H2. Windows 10 runs on them, and Haswell is covered by mainline Linux kernels, so current Ubuntu, Fedora and Arch releases run without extra patches. ChromeOS is not offered for this platform.
