The Xeon E7-4809 v3 is the entry-level model in Intel's four-socket Xeon E7-4800 v3 family, launched in May 2015 for mission-critical scale-up servers. Its eight cores and 16 threads run at a fixed 2.0 GHz without Turbo Boost, and it connects to the other sockets over 6.4 GT/s QPI links while supporting either DDR3 or DDR4 memory through Intel's scalable memory buffers.

Haswell-based Xeon E7 v3 processors are not on Microsoft's supported-processor lists for Windows 11 24H2, 25H2 or 26H2. Windows 10 runs on them, and Haswell is covered by mainline Linux kernels, so current Ubuntu, Fedora and Arch releases run without extra patches. ChromeOS is not offered for this platform.
