AMD Radeon RX 470 Mobile

4 GB GDDR5 · 256-bit · 2,048 cores

The Radeon RX 470 for notebooks was AMD's first Polaris GPU for gaming laptops, debuting in Alienware's 15 and 17 notebooks in September 2016. AMD described it as the full desktop RX 470 rather than a cut-down mobile chip, so it keeps all 32 compute units of the Ellesmere Pro configuration and is sold under the same name with no M suffix.

Notes
Polaris has no matrix or AI accelerator. FP16 is supported as a storage and arithmetic type but runs at the same rate as FP32, and there is no packed-math speed-up, no BF16, no TF32 and no dot-product instruction for INT8 or INT4. Double precision runs at 1/16 of the FP32 rate.
