AMD Radeon 840M

128-bit · 256 cores

The Radeon 840M is the entry integrated GPU of AMD's RDNA 3.5 generation, below the 860M, 880M and 890M. It is aimed at thin laptops and compact desktops where battery life and cost matter more than graphics throughput, yet keeps hardware ray tracing and draws on system memory rather than dedicated VRAM. Host processors include the Krackan Point Ryzen AI 5 340, the Gorgon Point Ryzen AI 7 445, Ryzen AI 5 435 and 430, and the AM5 desktop Ryzen AI 5 440G and 435G, with the graphics clock ranging from 2.8 to 2.9 GHz.

Notes
RDNA 3.5 has no dedicated matrix cores. AI work runs as WMMA operations on the FP16 shader ALUs (FP16/BF16/INT8/INT4). The platform AI TOPS figure quoted for these laptops comes from the separate XDNA 2 NPU, not from this GPU.
