AMD PlayStation 4 Pro GPU

256-bit · 2,304 cores

The PlayStation 4 Pro GPU is the graphics half of the semi-custom AMD processor in Sony's mid-generation PlayStation 4 Pro, released in November 2016. It doubles the base console's compute units to 36 and raises the clock, which more than doubles shader throughput and made checkerboard-rendered 4K output practical. Sony also folded in Polaris-era features and double-rate FP16 math, which developers used for image reconstruction.
