Samsung Exynos 8 Octa 8890

8C/8T · 2.6 GHz

The Samsung Exynos 8 Octa 8890 is a flagship smartphone chip announced in November 2015 and the first Exynos to use Samsung's own custom CPU design, the Exynos M1 "Mongoose". Its four custom cores run at 2.3 GHz, or up to 2.6 GHz when only one or two are active, alongside four Cortex-A53 cores and a twelve-core Mali-T880 GPU, and it integrates an LTE Cat.12 modem with three-carrier aggregation. Built on Samsung's second-generation 14 nm FinFET process, it supports 4K video at 60 fps and powered the Galaxy S7, S7 edge and Galaxy Note7 in many markets, as well as the Galaxy Note Fan Edition and the Meizu PRO 6 Plus.
