The Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 (SM4850) was announced on May 7, 2026 for affordable 5G smartphones. It runs two Cortex-A78-based performance cores at up to 2.4 GHz and six efficiency cores at up to 2.0 GHz, and its new Adreno 629 GPU makes it the first 4-series platform able to run games at 90 fps. It supports FHD+ displays at 144 Hz, 5G/4G Dual SIM Dual Active with downloads of up to 2.8 Gbps, and Quick Charge 5, but drops LPDDR5 support in favor of LPDDR4X only.
