Intel Core 2 Duo P9500

2C/2T · 25 W

Intel Core 2 Duo P9500 is a dual-core mobile processor from Intel's Penryn generation, released in July 2008 for mainstream notebooks. Built on a 45 nm process with the full 6 MB L2 cache Penryn die, it runs at a 2.53 GHz base clock over a 1066 MHz front-side bus within a 25 W TDP envelope, fitting Socket P (PGA478/BGA479) laptop designs.

Notes
Windows 11 is out of reach: Penryn is far below the 8th-generation floor on Microsoft's supported-processor list and the platform offers no TPM 2.0 or Secure Boot. Windows 10 and the mainstream Linux distributions still install, because they are built for the x86-64 baseline, but the CPU has no SSE4.2 or POPCNT, so any software that requires x86-64-v2 or newer will not run. ChromeOS Flex does not cover hardware of this era.
