Intel Core i7-9700K

8C/8T · 4.9 GHz · 95 W

The Core i7-9700K broke with Intel's usual practice by dropping Hyper-Threading from the Core i7 tier and giving it eight physical cores instead, one per thread. Launched alongside the Core i9-9900K in late 2018, it delivered close to the same gaming performance for noticeably less money and, like the rest of the 9th generation K line, used solder rather than paste beneath its heat spreader.

Notes
Microsoft lists 9th Gen Intel Core processors as supported for Windows 11 24H2 and 25H2, and Windows 10 is supported as well. Microsoft has not published a separate processor list for Windows 11 26H2, so the 25H2 status is carried over. Mainstream Linux distributions and ChromeOS Flex are supported.
