The Intel Core i7-8809G is a quad-core, eight-thread mobile processor from Intel's 8th Generation Core (Kaby Lake-G) family, combining a 14 nm Kaby Lake CPU with an on-package AMD Radeon RX Vega M GH discrete-class GPU linked over a dedicated PCIe 3.0 x8 connection. It runs at a 3.1 GHz base clock with Turbo Boost speeds up to 4.2 GHz, backed by 8 MB of cache, and supports dual-channel DDR4-2400 or DDR3L-1600 memory up to 64 GB. The Radeon RX Vega M GH graphics processor contributes 24 compute units clocked up to 1190 MHz with its own dedicated 4 GB of HBM2 memory, while a smaller Intel UHD Graphics 630 die is also included on-package for muxless hybrid-graphics switching. Housed in a single FCBGA2270 package within a 100 W combined thermal envelope, it was built for compact high-performance laptops that need discrete-class gaming and creative graphics without a separate GPU module.
