Intel Core i5-7600K

4C/4T · 4.2 GHz · 91 W

The Core i5-7600K was the unlocked quad-core flagship of Intel's mainstream Core i5 line on the 7th generation Kaby Lake desktop platform, launched in January 2017. Kaby Lake changed little architecturally over Skylake, so its appeal lay mainly in higher stock clocks and generous overclocking headroom on Z270 boards. It arrived only weeks before AMD's first Ryzen parts, which quickly made four cores without Hyper-Threading a harder sell at this price.

Notes
Windows 11 requires 8th Gen Intel Core or newer, so this processor is absent from Microsoft's supported CPU lists for 24H2 and 25H2; no separate list has been published for 26H2, so the same status is carried over. Windows 10 is supported. Mainstream Linux distributions run on it, and ChromeOS Flex accepts any 64-bit x86 processor.
