Intel Core 2 Duo E7600

2C/2T · 65 W

The Core 2 Duo E7600 is the fastest model of the Wolfdale-3M based E7000 series, released in 2009. It runs at 3.06 GHz on a 1066 MHz front-side bus with 3 MB of shared L2 cache in a 65 W TDP. Built on the R0 stepping, it supports Intel VT-x, unlike the earlier E7000 models, but not Trusted Execution Technology.

Notes
Windows 11 is out of reach: the chip is far below the 8th-generation floor on Microsoft's supported-processor list and its platforms offer no TPM 2.0 or Secure Boot. Windows 10 and the mainstream Linux distributions still install, because they are built for the x86-64 baseline, but the CPU has no SSE4.2 or POPCNT, so any software that requires x86-64-v2 or newer will not run. ChromeOS Flex does not cover hardware of this era.
