AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395

16C/32T · 5.1 GHz · 45 W

The AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 is the flagship Strix Halo processor, announced at CES on January 6, 2025 with systems arriving in the first quarter of 2025. It pairs two Zen 5 chiplets with sixteen cores (3.0 GHz base, up to 5.1 GHz) with a large I/O die carrying 40-CU Radeon 8060S graphics on RDNA 3.5 and a 50 TOPS XDNA 2 NPU, for up to 126 TOPS of total AI performance. Its 256-bit LPDDR5X interface supports up to 128 GB of unified memory, much of which can be assigned to the GPU, making it popular in compact workstations and mini PCs for running large AI models locally. Its default TDP is 55 W, configurable from 45 to 120 W.

Notes
AMD lists Windows 11 64-bit, RHEL and Ubuntu support, but not Windows 10. Ryzen AI Max systems ship with Windows 11 24H2 or later, Microsoft's Windows 11 25H2 supported-processor list names the Ryzen AI Max 300 Series, and 26H2 keeps the 25H2 requirements. Fedora and Arch Linux run on mainline kernels, and ChromeOS Flex installs on generic 64-bit x86 hardware.
