The AMD EPYC 9965 is the flagship 192-core processor in AMD's 5th Generation EPYC (Turin) family, built around the density-optimized Zen 5c core under the codename Turin Dense. With 384 threads, a 2.25 GHz base clock and boost frequencies up to 3.7 GHz, it targets cloud and hyperscale workloads that prioritize core count and throughput per socket over per-core frequency. Fabricated on TSMC's N3E process, it pairs with the SP5 platform in 1P or 2P configurations and supports 12-channel DDR5-6400 ECC memory alongside 128 lanes of PCIe 5.0 connectivity. The chip operates within a 500 W default TDP, configurable down to 450 W, and launched on October 10, 2024 at a 1KU price of $14,813.
